Round Lake Shoreline - Archaic

Ground stone projectile points, plus the carefully knapped (chipped) specimen of exotic lithic material, represent the Archaic Period of 5000 years ago. These spear or dart points were meant to be thrust or thrown with an atlatl. Smaller points were not employed until the invention of the bow and arrow. The ground stone fragment (far right) is likely from a woodworking tool.
