8000 BCE: These Rocks are Hot!

Exposed and eroded limestone reveals clues of the Bonnechere River's steamy past. Gastropods, cephalopods, brachiopods, and other fossils are regularly unearthed and visible at the Bonnechere Caves. These creatures lived in shallow tropical seas 500 million years ago, when this part of the world was warm and underwater.
