1400: Creatures of the Former Forest

A wide variety of animals inhabited the forest and formed the mainstay of aboriginal life in the area. In addition to small game, moose, deer, bear and wolf are still with us today. Eastern cougar may occasionally pass through, but the eastern elk and passenger pigeon disappeared forever with the arrival of the gun.
