Basin Depot 2000 - Munitions

This collection of ammunition indicates the presence of numerous firearms on the site. We have examples of ammunition in a variety of calibres and from several manufacturers.

There are .22 calibre rounds, used in small handguns and rifles, .38 calibre used in the famous Smith & Wesson revolvers, quantities of .44 calibre rimfire Winchester ammunition for pistols, a large calibre rifle round, as well as a 16 gauge shot shells meant for bird hunting. One specimen is meant to be reloaded.

Several bullet fragments indicate the potential impact of various sizes of ammunition. A few casings and shells have been cut up or modified for some unknown purpose.
