10 000 BCE: Uncovering a Faulty Landscape

A deep trench emerges from under the glacial ice. It is bounded and created by two of the Ottawa Valley's many faultlines or cracks in the Earth's crust. The trench now acts as a giant gutter for torrents of glacial meltwater and masses of moving sediments. The "Littleî Bonnechere River is born.
